IRIS Programs

IRIS is made up of 4 core programs:

Data Management System (DMS)
The DMS is charged with the collection and distribution of seismological data to the community.

Education & Outreach (E&O)
The newest program at IRIS, E&O is charged with providing information, tools and resources to all levels of the educational community and the general public.

Global Seismographic Network (GSN)
The GSN is responsible for the deployment and maintenance of permanent seismic recording stations around the globe.

Program for the Array Seismic Studies of the Continental Lithosphere (PASSCAL)
PASSCAL operates a pool of over 1,000 portable seismic instruments that are available to the research community.
