Southern Sierra Passive Arrays 9 April 1996 1993 Deployment Continuous Data @ 20 sps, 3 channels CV-2 Volume 2 Days 208-218 File 1 Release notes: SS93_Release_x.y SS93.site SS93.sitechan 208_218.readme 208_218.wfdisc File 2 Directories D208 D209 ... D218 containing waveforms ------------------------------------------------------- Continuous data is organized in Day directories Dnnn. A normal working environment, in directory $DAYS, would contain: SS93_Release_x.y 191_207.wfdisc 191_207.readme 208_218.wfdisc 208_218.readme etc... D191/ D192/ ... D298/ The data is released in volumes containing about 1.3 gb, compressed. It may be tar'ed in from tape to $DAYS one volume at a time, up to the capacity of the filesystem. To make room for new data loads, old day groups should be removed: rm -r D208 D209 .... The directory structure will be maintained by the 'tar x ...' process. -------------------------------------------------------- To load a volume setenv TAPE /dev/nrmt? [or /dev/rmt/xn for Solaris] mt rewind tar xv # get info file #1 ***if you are in Solaris, just smile**** ***if you are in the old SunOS, mt fsf 1 is needed ******to get past the file mark. tar x [D209 D210 ...] # All days [or enumerated days only] mt rewind --------------------------------------------------------- Database tables for this experiment are released in volume SS93_DB --------------------------------------------------------- The extracted event database and waveforms are released in volume SS93_EV[1 ...] ================================================================ Release Notes for this volume: Data for HMN1: 208:00hr through 211:22hr are 16 bit (s2) format. The waveforms were written by a 7000-series DAS, which has a 24-bit encoder and should be operated in 32 bit (s4) format. The 16 bits is an operator error (although the DAS should automatically implement 32). These waveforms are unlikely to be useful, since the 16 bits do not span the lowest bits from the 24 bit digitizer. The following waveform files, pointed to by .wfdisc, are missing: HMW2 SH[ZNE] ./D212/HMW2 HMW2.23.50.58.[1-3] 3 files HMN5 BH[ZNE] ./D213/HMN5 HMN5.22.26.18.[4-6] through HMN5 BH[ZNE] ./D213/HMN5 HMN5.23.56.21.[4-6] 12 files
