Notes Concerning Assured Arctic Awareness (1B.2013) The attached documents are to help understand how the Assured Arctic Awareness Experiment was performed. The experiment was set on a glacier in the Arctic Circle, with 3 stations set into an equilateral triangle with sides of 100 meters. This glacier then moved over the course of the experiment, and this movement was followed by the service buoys with attached GPS. Service Buoy 1 (SVP 1) is attached to Hole 2, and Service Buoy 2 (SVP 2) is attached to Hole 3. There was no buoy attached to Hole 1, so the position will have to be estimated based on the other two. SVP1 - Location and SVP2 - Location are the reported GPS coordinates and their times for the associated stations. The ASAM trip report, v.1.2, is a document written by the investigators that should help illuminate the entire experimental process.
