Background Information
IRIS Data Services will again be conducting a short course on Monday morning December 10, 2018 at the AGU. It will run from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and take place at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel near the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in the Grand Ballroom Central room. Morning coffee and mid morning snack will be provided but please plan on having breakfast before attending the shortcourse.
The discussion will be informal but we will demonstrate and discuss a variety of topics including:
- MUSTANG- Quality Assurance of IRIS Data
- Research Ready Data Sets (RRDS)
- Putting the MUSTANG metrics to work
- Federation of Data Centers
- DMC Federation of ph5 and seed archives
- International Federation of Data Centers
- Hardening Data Delivery by the Internet – ROVER
- New Products at the IRIS DMC
- Work on next generation data format
- xSEED
- time series identifiers
- tool modifications and what it means to you
Please register for the shortcourse by using the registration link. Applications will be accepted on a first come basis.
Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own computers in order to do exercises. To get the most out of the experience computers should be able to connect to the Internet(through the provided WiFi).
