Antelope Software: IRIS LicenseIRIS is pleased to announce a software license agreement with Boulder Real Time Technologies, Inc. (BRTT) that provides the Antelope software package to all Full Member Institutions of IRIS. This agreement is a supplement to an IRIS license for use in PASSCAL projects and DMS data collection activities. Antelope is a system of software modules that implement acquisition, transport, buffering, processing, archiving and distribution of environmental monitoring information. Antelope software currently runs on Sun Microsystems SPARC based computers running Solaris 10, Intel x86 based computers running Linux kernel version 2.6.11.4 or higher, Apple Intel based computers running MacOSX 10.4.11 or higher and a special ARM-XSCALE/Linux version that is only distributed in the Antelope embedded Marmot field processor. Please note that there are NO Antelope distributions for Sun Microsystems Intel/AMD-based computers running Solaris, or Intel x86 computers running any version of Microsoft Windows OS, or any of the Apple Power PC based computers, or for ARM-XSCALE processors except embedded within a Marmot field processor. Please do not request an Antelope CD if your systems do not conform to these the system requirements. Full IRIS members can use Antelope without restriction in their normal research. Network operators have certain restrictions in the use of Antelope specified by the following two points. 1. Antelope licenses shall be provided to any regional, national, or international network, or any data collection center, or any of the GSN stations, for the sole purpose of providing data to the IRIS DMS for data archiving and distribution. Such use of BRTT software shall be strictly limited to data transfer to the IRIS DMS and shall not be used for any other local network processing. BRTT may at its discretion decide to provide a special version of the Antelope release that has been stripped down to provide the minimum functionality necessary for the data transfer task. 2. Antelope licenses shall be provided to full member institutions of IRIS. Any and all use of software for the operations of permanent local, regional and national seismic networks by IRIS member institutions is prohibited, except for the use in item 1 above, or for use related to IRIS PASSCAL supported projects under its current scope. Use of software for small educational-only seismic networks is allowed. All use for data acquisition and processing, seismic or otherwise, that is not directly related to IRIS supported activities is prohibited. Research in seismology is considered to be an IRIS supported activity.
As part of this license agreement, any requests for support are to be channeled through IRIS. You can submit your problem or bug report using the Antelope Problem Report Form
