The MUSTANG system is an ambitious project designed to bring data quality analysis web services to IRIS DMC, covering the entirety of the data archive, from past to present time. It provides station operators and earth scientists ready access to measurements that are scientifically useful and reflects the state of instrumentation that record seismic data.
The goal of MUSTANG is to provide greater visibility of instrument health as well as store a quantitative record of data quality for the purposes of selective data access by scientists.

We have had this project in a beta phase for some time and we are happy to announce that we have MUSTANG at its final home among the other web services that IRIS DMC provides. We consider the system ready for general public use and encourage users to explore and try out its many features.

An introductory description page can also be found at IRIS DMC’s new Quality Assurance web site. We are still working on the content to provide the user community helpful information in the processes and techniques of data quality assurance.

There is still a lot of data to cover and metrics to generate. A web service to provide you a map of what the metrics coverage looks like is in the works. In the meantime, a good place to start in searching for metrics is the MUSTANG Databrowser.

We are getting everything put together in preparation for our presence at AGU. The Quality Assurance group will have two technical posters to present in the Seismology (S) section. Be looking for us there and please bring your questions and ideas.

I'm inspired! Shall I go ahead and declare MUSTANG "released" in the poster? (I know this isn't full bulkmail...)
