Thread: Teachable Moment- Magnitude 8.8 Offshore Maule, Chile

A magnitude 8.8 great earthquake occurred near the coast of central
Chile at early Saturday morning, February 27. This earthquake occurred
on the subduction zone plate boundary at the Peru – Chile Trench where
the oceanic Nazca Plate subducts beneath the continental South
American Plate. A three page PDF and 13 slide PPT have been prepared
with additional details about the earthquake.
