Dear all

I'd like to know if is possible with sac to use the cross
correlation function for two seismic signals.

Best regards

    hello again antonio

    yes, it is

    the function name is correlate
you can have a look at the manual for more details

from my experience at least, i can tell you the folowing.. more advanced users can chip in if they wish!

for example if you have 2 files:

    r file1 file2
correlate master 2 (or else the default for master is file1)
    w file3 file4

then file4 is the autocorrelation (2 with 2) and file3 is the cross correlation (1 with 2)

it´s best to run first with 2 files that have a known result, e.g. the same file with a known timelag, and then check that what you get is what you expected

    hope this helps

    olga
