I've the same problem for a 64 bit computer running Slackware.
Here the description of the system:
% uname -a
Linux antelope-wks 2.6.16.29 #2 SMP Tue Oct 31 13:41:37 CET 2006
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
the involved libraries are:
% ldd /opt/sac/bin/sac
linux-gate.so.1 => (0xffffe000)
libSM.so.6 => /usr/lib/libSM.so.6 (0xf7fa6000)
libICE.so.6 => /usr/lib/libICE.so.6 (0xf7f8e000)
libX11.so.6 => /usr/lib/libX11.so.6 (0xf7ec1000)
libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0xf7ebd000)
libm.so.6 => /lib/libm.so.6 (0xf7e9a000)
libncurses.so.5 => /lib/libncurses.so.5 (0xf7e58000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0xf7d28000)
/lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xf7fce000)
All the libraries exist and are 32 bit. Here it is their description
using "file -L":
/usr/lib/libSM.so.6: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386,
version1 (SYSV), not stripped
/usr/lib/libICE.so.6: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386,
version 1 (SYSV), not stripped
/usr/lib/libX11.so.6: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386,
version 1 (SYSV), not stripped
/lib/libdl.so.2: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386,
version 1 (SYSV), not stripped
/lib/libm.so.6: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386,

/lib/libncurses.so.5: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386,
version 1 (SYSV), stripped
/lib/libc.so.6: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386,

/lib/ld-linux.so.2: ELF 32-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386,

Any suggestion ?
