Dear IRIS web service users-

Since this weekend, an incremental update to the station service has exhibited some scaling issues when it comes to handling larger queries. Users may find that they get truncated results and an error due to a timeout. This has had a cascade effect to other dependent services such as the Fedcatalog, which helps to drive many BREQ_FAST, MDA, and WILBER activities. The result may be that you see an incomplete list of stations or channels in your result.

The IRIS staff is aware of these issues and has a fix in the works that we will deploy as soon as possible. We are running a release candidate through tests and working through the technical aspects of deploying the service so as to minimize distruption to your work.

Thank you for your patience as we effect these updates.

    Dear IRIS web service users-

This is a followup message to Monday's report of issues with the station service.

Tuesday morning, a patched version of the service was fully deployed and allowed to run while being monitored by staff.

All indications are that this version is stable, functions correctly, and addresses prior issues.

We consider this matter resolved and will continue to look into any other issues that arise.

    Thanks,

    -Rob
