Hello Everyone,

I know this is the place to discuss only about SAC but I need some help to
save my earth model into MatTaup (MATLAB version of taup )to calculate the
phase arrival times. My model consists the values for Vp, Qkappa, Vs, Qmu,
density and depth which not a standard model but a combination of AK135 and
PREM models.

How can I use MatTaup to calculate the arrival times of different phases
according to my model ?

Should I use spherical earth model OR flat earth model to calculate phase
arrival times ?

Your help will really be appreciated.

Regards,

    Hi Mohit,

Is there any particular reason why you want to use MatTaup instead of taup? If not, you can easily create your own spherical model in taup to generated arrival times. Follow instructions in section 7 of the Taup toolkit manual. It will only take a few minutes for you to understand the whole process.
