spectrogram time picks

Hello, Is there a way to pick times off the spectrogram figure that SAC creates? or is there a way to extract the spectrogram it plots as a matrix so that I can use it to pick times with an external program? I am using SAC 101.4 As a test I tried picks command after spectrogram as follows but it didn't work. r file spectrogram window 1 slice 0.5 order 100 cbar sqrt method mem ymin 0 ymax 2 color picks T3 C T4 C W 0.05 H 0.3 Thanks ! taup_setsac problem solved by upgrading to TauP-2.0beta9

Dear Colleagues and Friends: The problem I had with taup_setsac was fixed by upgrading from TauP-2.0beta6 (which I had) to TauP-2.0beta9. Thank you all so much for your hints and suggestions.

Cannot Exit Plot

Hello, I am working with SAC currently and when I have a plot open, I cannot close it no matter what. I tried the 'quitsub' command but it is giving me a "sh:quitsub not found" error which is strange because I tried 'fft' and that worked. I am trying to quit the plot because I want to change directory but as long as a plot is open I don't think it will let me. What can I do? Thank you for your help.

SAC with shell script

Hi, Is there any possibility that SAC developers could add documentation on calling SAC within a Shell script to the SAC User guide? This is an area I repeatedly had problems with and haven't found a robust solution yet. The external documentation that I have found online haven't been that helpful either. Thank you. Januka.

taup_setsac errors in setting theoretical arrival times of phases

Dear Friends and Colleagues: In an attempt to put the theoretical arrival times in SAC headers, I have used a program contained in TAU_P package, called "taup_setsac". Dear Zheng, Thank you for your fast reply, zoom is one of the option but it is not what I am looking for, Basically, Graphical window of SAC pop up in a default size, I want to enlarge this graphical window, I mean, I want larger pop up graphical window. One of the way doing this, change my computer screen for example using 23 inc screen, but I suppose pop up large graphical window will do the same effect without change my screen. Installing SAC in Linux

Hello, I am trying to install SAC onto Linux. Does it work in the most recent version of Ubuntu or does it only work in CentOS 4.7? If it only works in CentOS, what binary does should I download? ( The mirror sites give 5 different binaries, bin1of5, bin2of5, bin3of5, ext. ) Thank you for your help. Raymond Chen

Dear SAC users, I am using SAC for my seismogram analysis. I prepared a SAC macro which help me see the wave forms and pick the arrival times. My question is when I read my data with read command in sac and plot them with ppk, a Graphic window is opened and I can see the wave forms but my computer screen is not so big so that I have difficulty to see exact time of arrival time. Hi, I want to calculate moving RMS values on a data file. i.e. I have one day time series, and want to calculate RMS value within 101 points window at each sample. All sac users: I am a beginner here, so I would like to ask some questions, I hope some advanced user of sac can help me with my doubts about transfer command. 1. Sir, I rececived two mail from your side, after registering for SAC software, in first link i get sac-101.4.tar.gz(11.3 MB) and in second one i get sac-101.4-linux_x86_32.tar.gz( 7.3 MB). I have 32 bit configure computer. when i install the package sac-101.4.tar.gz it install but after going to the all procedure describe by you in readme it won,t run.But when i install sac-101.4-linux_x86_32.tar.gz it install and run.please tell me why this happen ?
