Hello webservice users, The DMC has updated it's ws-SACPZ service: http://www.iris.edu/ws/sacpz/ For users parsing the annotated comments included in the previous version of the service be aware that the annotations have been changed. This new style of annotations will be matched in the next release of rdseed which also creates SAC poles and zeros files. For users of the DMC's Fetch scripts no change is required. The changes include: - New style of annotations as comments for each set of p… [more]

Hello web service users, A beta release of the next revision of the DMC's ws-sacpz service includes the following changes: - New style of annotations as comments for each set of poles and zeros returned. These annotations identify the time series associated with the response and include some other basic metadata. The DMC intends to match this SAC PZ output in the next release of rdseed. - Correctly match annotations to channel in corner cases, in a few cases the information included was n… [more]

Hi The StationXML schema says that the Network element should be a sequence of: StartDate EndDate Description TotalNumberStations SelectedNumberStations Station ... Station However, the current iris station web service currently sends back StartDate EndDate Description TotalNumberStations Station ... Station SelectedNumberStations which makes the resulting XML document invalid. This is kind of a pain if you actually go to the trouble of validat… [more]

Hello webservice users, The DMC has updated it's ws-bulkdataselect service: http://www.iris.edu/ws/bulkdataselect/ The new version adds two optional query parameters: minimumlength Enforce minimum segment length (seconds). Only time-series segments of this length or longer will be returned. longestonly If specified, only the longest continuous segment for each channel is returned. Currently, the RESP service appears to be out of order. All queries are coming back with: HTTP Error 500: Internal Server Error Sorry - Something Bad Happened: Listener refused the connection with the following error: ORA-12505, TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor The Connection descriptor used by the client was: dbserv1.iris.washington.edu:1521:iris

Dear List, I was parsing some results from the ws-station service and found that sometimes the information I obtained differs from the results obtained by using the MDA service at IRIS also. For example, searching for network YF on MDA for project SCANLIPS (Year 2006) I found 54 stations and using ws-station I found only 29. Any ideas why the results are different ? regards, Marcelo Bianchi -- http://sites.google.com/site/foo4funreborn/
