Hello all, I am using ws-timeseries to plot trace data in a time window from 5 min before to 20 min after picks made in the Early-est real-time system (http://early-est.alomax.net) If I run ws-timeseries for a channel right after it is picked, then I get a plot from 5 min before the pick to some small interval T1 after the pick. If I then wait some time and re-run ws-timeseries for the channel, I would expect to get data from 5 min before the pick until some interval T2>T1 after the pi… [more]

Hello webservice users, The DMC is pleased to announce the beta release of our ws-virtualnetwork service. This service returns information for stations belonging to virtual networks, the station details may be returned in XML, comma-separated values (CSV), or MS-Excel (XLS) format based on the value of the output parameter. Virtual networks represent groups of stations and/or seismic networks organized under umbrella organizations or initiatives, rather than traditional seismic networks. Th… [more]

Hello webservice users, Based upon MATLAB user feedback we have updated irisFetch.m, which includes the following changes: * The Trace structure, retrieved from irisFetch.Traces now includes a field "sampleRate". This was inadvertently missing from the first release. * The documentation has been updated and clarified. Additionally, the java examples page now includes a FetchSAC example. Here, you can obtain all the files needed for an example command-line utility that creates local SAC fi… [more]

Hello webservice users, The DMC is pleased to announce you can now directly access IRIS-DMC stored data from within your MATLAB environment, thanks to IRIS Java Web Service Library (IRIS-WS Library) which has just been released into beta*. No knowledge of java programming is required. Using the irisFetch.m file, you will be able to retrieve station metadata, time series data and event parameters. You can also retrieve trace data, which contains both time series data with associated station … [more]

Hello webservice users, The DMC is pleased to announce the beta release of the IRIS Java Web Service Library (IRIS-WS Library).  This Java API allows direct access to data and information at the DMC from within your programs.   This library constructs the service calls based on criteria you define, and accesses the web services behind the scenes.  Information is retrieved as java objects that are available for immediate manipulation, bypassing the traditional “save to disk, reload into my prog… [more]

Hello webservice users, The DMC is pleased to announce the release of an update to our ws-event service. This update adds a new option to return phase arrivals, the DMC currently only has phase arrivals for the ANF catalog. Other changes include bug fixes and reorganization for compliance with the QuakeML schema. We believe this update will be backward compatible for almost all users. Most clients, including the DMC's FetchEvent script, should require changes. http://www.iris.edu/ws/event… [more]

Hello webservice users, The DMC has released a beta version of the ws-event service to include phase arrivals (for the ANF catalog) and fix a few bugs. Changes are backward compatible with the current release with one exception: the Flinn-Engdahl region notation has been reorganized to comply with schema and to clearly identify the parameters, more details below. We invite testing and feedback for the beta service at the following URL: http://www.iris.edu/wsbeta/event/ We plan on moving th… [more]
