The Nominations Committee for the 2006 election to the IRIS Board of  
Directors has now been appointed and consists of:

Greg Beroza (Chair)

University of California, Berkeley

Elections will be held this year for three positions for three-year  
terms on the Board of Directors. As described in the elections  
procedures of the By Laws, the nominations committee "shall prepare a  
slate of one or more nominees for each Director position to be  
filled". Prior to the Annual IRIS Board Meeting at AGU on Monday,  
December 11, you will be informed of the candidates and provided with  
details on the voting procedures.

All member representatives are encouraged to contact members of the  
Nominations Committee to provide suggestions for candidates for the  
open positions.
