Please note the following special session for the Fall 06 AGU meeting:
T02: Understanding the Structure of East Asia From Seismic, Gravity,
GPS, and Electromagnetic Methods
This session focuses on research relevant to analyzing and imaging
the structure of East Asia. This part of the world, including many
sedimentary basins, orogenic provinces, and the Tibetan Plateau, is
one of the most tectonically active and complex areas recently opened
to broad, cooperative study. Data, new inversion techniques, and
modeling approaches that are applied to this region, and associated
results, are invited. We welcome presentations examining a broad
range of properties including electrical, electromagnetic, gravity/
density, GPS, seismic velocity, attenuation and other geophysical
characteristics, with results and interpretations illuminating not
only current observable features but also enhancing the state of
knowledge regarding tectonics and tectonic history of the region.
Contributions of work ranging from local to regional in scale are
encouraged.
