Please consider submitting an abstract to the following AGU Fall 06
session:

T15: New Observations From the Mantle Wedge: Consequences for Water,
Petrology, Melt, and Flow

Description:
This session seeks to highlight new constraints on structure, flow,
dehydration and melting processes within the subduction zone mantle
wedge. Questions of particular interest include: Can seismic velocity
and/or attenuation tomography resolve water, partial melt, and/or
composition in the mantle wedge? What new constraints can we place on
temperature and flow in the mantle wedge? What is being learned from
data synthesis and comparison between subduction zones? How do
mineral physics and geochemical/petrologic results inform the
interpretation of seismic observables? How close are we to tying
volcanic products to specific temperatures/compositions at the mantle
source? We encourage papers from seismology, geodynamical modeling,
mineral physics, geochemistry, and petrology.
