Faculty Positions in seismology and solid-earth geophysics at China
University of Geosciences (Beijing)
The School of Geophysics and Geo-information Systems at China
University of Geosciences (Beijing) invites applications for two
faculty positions in the areas of seismology and solid-earth
geophysics. We anticipate hiring at the Lecturer (Assistant
Professor) level. But exceptionally well-qualified senior applicants
will be considered. We seek individuals with strong background in
one or more of the following areas: theoretical and computational
seismology, tomography, earthquake source mechanisms, marine
seismology, and geodynamics. The research should complement existing
expertise in exploration geophysics, structural geology, and
geophysical instrumentation. The successful applicants will be
expected to maintain an externally funded research program, and teach
at all levels in Geophysics. Ability to communicate and teach in
Mandarin Chinese and English is desirable. A Ph.D. at the time of
appointment is required.
