DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision monitor real-time data acquisition for  
several seismic network deployments.
Report problems with data collection, maintain local backups of data,  
ensuring relational database consistency, and inform remote users of  
system downtime.
Routine data processing and analysis of seismic data.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Working knowledge of UNIX on Sun workstations.
* Working knowledge of C-shell, Perl, and TCL scripting.
* Experience with C and FORTRAN languages.
* Working knowledge of relational databases.
* Verbal and written communication skills to reflect status of  
projects, data quality and processing procedures.
* Theoretical knowledge of geology/geophysics.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Must have CA valid driver's license.
