POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION IN SEISMOLOGY AT UW-MADISON

A post-doctoral research position in seismology will be available in  
the Department of Geology and Geophysics, University of Wisconsin- 
Madison, beginning in spring or summer 2008.  The position is a full- 
time 2-year appointment, with the opportunity of continuation, as a  
Post-Doctoral Research Associate.  The successful applicant will  
initially participate in two projects, one involving subduction zone  
earthquakes and the other related to SAFOD; substantial freedom to  
pursue other research projects is anticipated.  The expected starting  
salary is in the range $39,000 to $42,000, depending on  
qualifications and experience.  The position is most appropriate for  
candidates not more than 2 years past Ph.D.  Completion of all Ph.D.  
requirements is necessary at the time of appointment.

The starting dates for the positions are flexible, but preferably  
between April 1 and July 1, 2007.  Applicants should submit a resume,
