Dear Colleagues:

We would like to draw your attention to the following special
session being convened at the Fall 2007 AGU meeting:

------------------------------------------------------------------
S14: Advances in Signal Processing Methods for Seismology

This session explores recent developments in application of advanced
signal processing methods to the analysis of digital seismic data.
Researchers have made new advances in application of such methods as
filtering based on higher-order statistics of spectral signatures,
wavelet decomposition, instantaneous phase or polarization, mulitaper
signal analysis and autoregression techniques, as well as other, new
approaches, incorporated into event classification, phase detection
and identification, denoising, array processing, magnitude estimation
and so forth. The technology is evolving quickly and new methods are
continually under development. We invite contributions addressing new
and advanced signal processing techniques applied to seismological
research.

Conveners:

Charlotte Rowe Youshun Sun
Los Alamos Nat'l Lab M.I.T.

If your work involves development or implementation of new
seismic signal processing approaches, or new ways of applying
or combining existing technologies, please consider
contributing to this session.

Abstract deadline is 6 September.
