Dear Colleagues:
We would like to draw your attention to the following special
session being convened at the Fall 2007 AGU meeting:
------------------------------------------------------------------
S06: Advances in Tsunami Warning: From Science and Engineering to Hazard
Mitigation
In the three years since the Great Sumatra-Andaman Earthquake and
tsunami,
there have been significant improvements to tsunami warning systems,
to the
physical understanding of tsunami excitation, and to identification
of new
data types that may add insight to tsunamigenesis. The purpose of this
session is provide a forum to present these new ideas and approaches,
specifically as applied to the tsunami warning problem for both local
and
distant events.
