[SE77] The crustal and deep Earth structures under Asia and Oceania constrained by seismology

Many of the regions in the western Pacific and Asia suffer from high seismicity due to the continental collision and various plate subductions. This active plate tectonics accommodates crustal deformation and deep penetration of subducting slabs. Thus, detailed studies of crustal and deep Earth structure are important to improve our understanding of the current dynamics in this region. We welcome any contributions of seismic studies on the Earth structures under Asia and Oceania that enhance our understanding of the physical and chemical properties of the Earth and the tectonic evolution of the region. The studies include, but are not limited to, seismic tomography of velocity and attenuation and their interpretation, seismic anisotropy, numerical modeling of wave propagation, and seismic source studies of major earthquakes in the region.
