Dear colleagues,
As part of my sabbatical leave from the Colorado School of Mines I
have developed the public lecture "The Global Energy Challenge." This
presentation is freely available and aims to be appealing and
understandable for a broad audience. It can also be used in
undergraduate classes or as a departmental seminar. I am available to
present this lecture, but the material is available for anybody who
would like to use it.
The presentation sketches the tension between increased energy demand,
peak oil, the associated challenge in curbing climate change, and
actions that we can take towards a sustainable energy system. The
presentation gives ideas for positive action that teachers, students,
businessmen, consumers, and citizens can take, and it conveys that the
challenges related to our energy supply come with career
opportunities, a point that is especially appealing to a young
audience. The following URL provides information about the presentation:

You can help in several ways to spread this information:
1) By giving this presentation yourself. (The website above gives
ideas how to do this, and contains a link for downloading the
Powerpoint presentation.)
2) By creating an occasion for me to present this work.
3) By forwarding this message, and the URL, to others who might be
interested in this presentation.
Please join me in this initiative and make a difference!
Best regards, Roel Snieder
