Please consider submission of a presentation to GSA Annual Meeting
(10/509)
session T59, “EarthScope: Bringing Geology and Geophysics Together to
Study
the 4D Evolution of the Lithosphere”; see description below. A key
goal of
EarthScope is the construction of 4-D models of the structure and
evolution
of Earth's crust and lithospheric mantle beneath North America. This
session
aims to catalyze integrated studies as well as provide a forum for
recent
results on US geology.

We will be able to support each session speaker up to an amount of
$500 toward
reasonable travel and lodging expenses (exclusive of registration,
meals, etc).

Please feel free to forward this message to a colleague and sorry for
any duplicate mailings.

To contact the conveners: Ben van der Pluijm (vdpluijm at umich.edu),
Randy Keller (grkeller at ou.edu), Anne Trehu (trehu at coas.oregonstate.edu)

Description:

A major goal of EarthScope is the construction of 4-D
models of the structure and evolution of the Earth's crust and
lithospheric mantle beneath North America. This ambitious goal can
only be achieved via integration of a wide range of geophysical
and geological data. EarthScope, USArray and GeoEarthScope and
related studies are already producing interesting results in the
Pacific Northwest and other regions of the western U. S. The goals
of this session are to provide a forum for presentation of recent
EarthScope results and to catalyze integrated studies that are
needed to achieve EarthScope's objectives for the US continent.
