<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; ">We are interested in innovative and productive individuals in ocean acoustics or geophysics with some background in signal processing. We are interested in theory, algorithmic development, and practical implementation focusing on extracting information from noise.<br><br>The focus in this project will be to work on processing data from the first ocean observatory with two 1-km long bottom arrays in the Gulf of Mexico. A goal will be to monitor gas hydrates using noise or maybe active sources recorded on these arrays. Possibly, we will also experiment with monitoring hurricanes. All processing will be done in matlab.<br><br>Applicants must possess a relevant Ph.D. Position appointments are for one year, with renewal for a second year depending on funding and other policy considerations.
