According to this idea, I believe that there were some discussions on this issue in July using the mailing-list regarded with the selection c rules. To accomplish this goal, we have discussed that we need to identify regional coordinators in WG-1. I should apologize that I did not include these personnel in the mailing-list of WG-1, but I have amended the list now. I suppose that we can ask those regional coordinators to list candidates of new FDSN backbone stations from their regions based on the standards, such as STS-1, realtime, noise spetra etc. We can set up tentative list by next FDSN general assembly in January and finalize the list at the meeting. If coordinators can send me the Excel spread sheet then I can merge them into one file and present the tentative list at the next FDSN general assembly. In addition to this request, I would like to ask all of the members of WG1 to update station inventory. The current station inventory is available at http://www.fdsn.org/stations/stations2007/fdsnsta2007.xls I would be grateful if you would use this Excel spread sheet to update station inventory for your network. Please mark clearly on the sheet where you have amended the entry. Preferably I would like to have your contribution within one month. It would be helpful if you would nominate new possible FDSN backbone stations from your network when you will send the inventory. Please let me know if you have any comments and questions regarded with the inventory. Best regards, Seiji Tsuboi
