OBSIP user community,

Spring has just sprung, but it is already time to think about AGU 2016!
The deadline to submit AGU sessions is less than two weeks away on 20
April, 11:59 PM ET. If you are planning to or have already submitted a
session that may be of interest to the OBS community, please feel free
to broadcast the title and/or description by replying to this e-mail. If
you are interested in planning a session but would like to first gauge
interest or find co-chairs, this thread would also be a useful tool.
Organizing your own session is the best way to draw together researchers
of similar interests in the vastness of AGU, and you don't have to leave
it up to chance.

Due to the great success of last year's International OBS Special
Interest Group meeting, OBSIP will be organizing a follow-on at the 2016
AGU Fall Meeting. This will be submitted as an AGU Townhall in order to
reduce scheduling conflicts. Since the 2015 SIG was focused on the ocean
bottom seismograph instruments, we would like the presentations this
year to focus more on the data. This includes noise analysis,
emplacement techniques, shielding performance, orientation/data
processing procedures, and advertising new data sets that are publicly
available (or will become available), among other topics.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I welcome suggestions
on the topic or format of these AGU gatherings.

Cheers,
Kasey
