[SAC-HELP] C program

Hi everyone again,


does anyone has a working c program that reads and writes a SAC file. I 
am taking the sample code from the SAC website 
http://www.iris.edu/manuals/sac/manual.html and i have the sacio.a file 
but all in vain.

Do i need to expand sacio.a ?? in which directory??
DO i need to #include any files?? or set some environment???
