Also, by the way, the "Readme.buildsac" that comes with the source code shows this as a configuration option: --enable-matlab=/path/to/matlab Where to find Matlab and its libraries. As of version 101.2, Matlab is only available if requested. See CHANGES (2008-04-01) for further details. I gather from looking at the configure script, that this flag should be "--with-matlab=/path/to/matlab" Right now, however, I'm trying just to get SAC to work without matlab. Thanks. If correct, you'll get the same result any time you use color -- is this true? Experiment and see. You can avoid triggering the color problem by plotting in black and white using 'spectrogram gray' or 'spectrogram xyz' and then contouring the resulting xyz file. You might be able to configure your X server not to provide a TrueColor screen choice. This is a black art, not for novices, but you might have some success by that route. (I can provide no advice -- X installations vary widely, and you'll have to consult your own distribution manuals.) If you have access to a Mac, you could also use MacSAC which has TrueColor support and which also has a functioning spectrogram command. Upgrading to a newer version of sac should solve your issue. The problem you are experiencing was fixed in SAC version 100.1 in 2005 ( 101.0 in 2007 ). Using either SAC distributed by IRIS or MacSac should solve your problems. Brian Savage has found fixes and is preparing patches for some of these. I give a list below. I also describe a bug and a fix I found in the utility program sgftops. As this program is a "stand-alone" program (does not require anything more than a compile/install line), I give the patch at the end. The current plan is to send IRIS the patches to post on the SAC software Web site in a month or so. Please share with sac-help any other bugs you find (and solutions, if you find them). Arthur Snoke Here is the list of problems for which Brian has patches - do file wild (Arthur Snoke ) - Q appears on component name ( Bob Hancock ) - segy read on 64 bit machines ( Gilberto Saccorotti ) - getline() conflicts with libc.a, Fedora 11 Only ( Derek Schutt ) - beginwindow 2 fails ( Susan Bilek ) - vertical plane rotations ( George Helffrich ) Enchancements - Python code for read sac files ( Sebastian Heimann ) - Debugging facilities, command line option --gdb-debug sgftops: On several newer operating systems, all lines on .ps files produced by sgftops have the minimum possible line thickness. Operating systems include (at least some) Linux systems, Mac OS5 and OS6. If these .ps files are converted to PDF files or (on the MAC) read into an application like Preview, they print with the "normal" line thicknesses. (The program has a switch for changing the base line thickness. However, this switch has no effect on these operating systems.) The fix is quite simple: moving one line fprintf(ofp, "\n%d setlinewidth", base_width); down several lines so that it is now after rescaling. Here is the diff file produced comparing the new (sgftops.c) and old (sgftops_090505.c}: --- sgftops.c 2009-09-12 18:02:29.000000000 -0400 +++ sgftops_090505.c 2009-05-05 13:44:17.000000000 -0400 @@ -9,8 +9,6 @@ * sgftox.csh: Script (using gs) produces screen plot. * ============================================================================= * MODIFICATION HISTORY: - * 20090912: snoke at vt.edu moved setlinewdith from prologue. That is, every line in these text files end in \r\n instead of the Unix \n. These scripts are sgftoeps.csh (used to translate .sgf graphics files to EPS files) and sgftox.csh (used to produce a screen display of a .sgf file using gs). Corrected scripts wil be included with the patches we will be uploading to IRIS. In the meantime, if you want to fix these files yourself, on Linux you can use dos2unix, in many editors if you read in a text file you can do a "save as" and choose Unix line endings, or you can use the following script: ==================== #!/bin/tcsh # # Transforms DOS line endings to unix line endings by deleting all \r cat $1 | tr -d "\r" > "$1".tmp \mv "$1".tmp "$1" chmod a+x "$1" =================== If the file is named erase_cr, chmod a+x erase_cr erase_cr sgftox.csh erase_cr sgftoeps.csh From re.rezaei at gmail.com Fri Sep 25 23:40:25 2009 From: re.rezaei at gmail.com (reza rezaei) Date: Sat, 26 Sep 2009 10:10:25 +0330 Subject: [SAC-HELP] sac header Message-ID: <5feb258a0909252340h7579f64fh496c217de8adfa48@mail.gmail.com> Hi every one, Sac reads the max peak point during the waveform and save them in Depmax or Depmin.
