SPUD V1.9

Welcome!

You can read this page any time you want. To return here, just click on the SPUD logo in the upper left hand corner of every SPUD page to return here. Why not take SPUD out for a test drive? Just click on one of the products in the list to the left to get started.

As new products are generated and added to the system, new product specific entries will be added to the list on the left.

If any products from SPUD are used in your research please be sure to cite the identified author of the product, the IRIS DMS [Citation Information] and follow any citation guidelines in the "About" section for each product.

Introduction to SPUD

What is SPUD?

The Searchable Product Depository (SPUD) is the IRIS DMC's data product management system. SPUD is both the long term archive and the primary access point for data products managed by the DMC.

Products managed in SPUD are typically derived from raw waveform data and are complementary to the waveform data managed at the IRIS DMC. These can be images, movies, text files or other processing results such as moment tensors, MT transfer functions, calibration data, etc.

SPUD allows a user to search for products across all types, for example you may search for all products related to specific events, geographic areas or time ranges. In addition SPUD has a product-specific query interface for each type with appropriate search parameters.

Each product type in SPUD has a specific presentation, or detail, page that is designed around the product needs. From a given product detail page you may find links to related products, for example other products for the same event as the current product.

Menu Navigation via Quick Links

Data Products

The menu area on the left side of SPUD contains useful links. This is the main navigation method to product specific query pages. Specific product type queries, e.g. GMV, Event Plots, are available by clicking on the appropriate menu items in this area. There is also a item labeled All Products which allows searching over the complete set of product types stored in SPUD.

Queries

The menu area labeled "Queries" currently has two menu items. Last Query returns you to the last query page, preserving the state of your last query criteria. This menu is the preferred method of returning to your last query page. The Event Query item allows querying for all event based product types, currently these are GMVs and Event Plots.
