The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology seeks a dynamic  
and forward-looking scientist or engineer with managerial and  
instrumentation experience to serve as Program Manager for the Program  
for Array Seismic Studies of the Continental Lithosphere (PASSCAL).  
The preferred candidate will have an advanced degree or equivalent  
experience in engineering or science and ten or more years experience  
leading research or facilities programs in academia, related  
government agencies or industry.

The PASSCAL facility based at New Mexico Tech is managed by the IRIS  
Consortium and is funded primarily by the National Science Foundation.  
This facility provides access to a broad range of portable seismic  
instruments, field training and support, and data services to assist   
seismological research on earthquakes and Earth structure. The PASSCAL  
Program Manager provides leadership and technical advice in the  
development, operation and evolution of PASSCAL, including oversight  
of the subaward for facility operation at New Mexico Tech.

The successful candidate must demonstrate vision and an ability for  
sustained leadership, and be capable of managing in a challenging,  
dynamic and highly rewarding scientific and technical environment.  
Significant travel is required. The position will be located in  
Socorro, New Mexico or Washington, D.C.
