[data-issues] compression error with G.SCZ

Hi Rick,

OK, thanks for noting this.  I've found the true problems with my requests,
which are my fault (big surprise).  Charlie Groves pointed out that I'm
using an old version of java which seems to be near the root of the problem
(at least for linux - my new mac pro doesn't yield this issue).
