Dear friends I don't know how to correlate any two waveforms(pairwisely) in a folder. As you know by "sac_wfcc" we can correlate the master waveform(the first one in the folder) with the others but the loop does not mean in it! sac_wfcc gives also cc coefficient and delay time. I'll be grateful with any Help of you -- S.Sadri

Dear sac users, I having a problem which you may come across before with the error. my problem is, I would like to run simple sac macro in a shell scrip. the reason of this if I have too much file in the folder sac macro gives a segmentation fault which I can not relate with anything. so I am trying to give sac file 3 component by 3 component in the sac macro. But the thing is I do this, setbb command in the macro does not work. I attached my shell and macro files, any help will be grat… [more]

Hello, I am a fairly new user of SAC. I am using it on CentOS. I have imported events from an Antelope database into SAC files for each event (the events were actually extracted based on the presence of converted phases, such as sP and pS waves). I have also adjusted the 0 time for the files to be at the same time as the first arrival, so that the P phase is always at 0, and all of the other phases have been adjusted correspondingly. I have encountered a couple of difficulties however. The f… [more]

I am attempting to remove the instrument response for various stations using the following command lines, similar to the SAC tutorials: SETBB RES "RESP.IU.CCMxxx.BHE" READ [input .sac file] RTR TAPER TRANSFER FROM EVALRESP FNAME %res TO NONE FREQLIM 0.004 0.007 0.2 0.4 When I call the transfer function, I receive the following: WARNING: no response found for NET=IU, STA=CCM, LOCID=*, CHAN=Q, ... and a final error message (#2118) which states that no transfer function has been applied. Hello, Could someone tell me a bit more about how AZ and BAZ are calculated in SAC? Up to now, e.g. when binning receiver functions, I have used BAZ and GCARC to group them together, and that's always seemed to work, so I've always assumed that the BAZ/GCARC (or DIST, I imagine) pair gives you a unique position from the point of interest (the station). This time, I have some data output that is expressed in AZ and DIST. I assumed (perhaps naively?) that this would also allow successful spati… [more]

I am working on a local magnitude research. I want to remove response instrument from the data and simulate the response of Wood Anderson seismograph. What should I do? I have a few questions : 1. Which one the true procedure and command in SAC :    a) SAC> trans from evalresp to none       and then       SAC> trans from polezero subtype "file name.pz" to none    b) SAC> trans to polezero subtype "wood anderson file name.pz"    c) SAC> trans to wa    d) SAC> trans from polezero subtype "sati… [more]

I have a problem in that the plot commands (p1,ppk) do not show the files in the same order as they are listed in memory after a sort. What I am trying to do is to display a north- to south record section of noise correlation functions with respect to a target station. The coordinates of both stations are place in evla and stla, but it is not well defined in which variable a given station ends up in (evla, or stla). So to plot all the functions relative to J10S I use r sumtraces-nonorm-… [more]
