Tsunami Numerical Modeler - Full-Time Position, Research Professional  
3, Alaska Earthquake Information Center (AEIC), Geophysical  
Institute, University of Alaska Fairbanks.

AEIC is recruiting a Tsunami Numerical Modeler for the Alaska Tsunami  
Inundation Mapping Project to develop and apply hydrodynamic  
numerical models of tsunami wave generation, propagation and runup.  
The goal of this project is to map potential inundation of Alaska  
coastal communities, providing local emergency officials with site- 
specific tsunami hazard assessment.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Oceanography, other Earth or  
Physical Sciences, Mathematics or Engineering, strong knowledge of  
ocean dynamics and numerical modeling techniques, experience with  
computational fluid dynamics, preferably in tsunami numerical  
modeling. PhD preferred.

The successful candidate of this position will be placed at a level  
appropriate for their education and experience. This position is part  
of a career development plan and that will provide an avenue for  
increasing the position's scope, complexity, and degree of  
independence as the incumbent's experience and skills increase.
