Hello webservice users, The DMC has released a beta version of the ws-event service to include phase arrivals (for the ANF catalog) and fix a few bugs. Changes are backward compatible with the current release with one exception: the Flinn-Engdahl region notation has been reorganized to comply with schema and to clearly identify the parameters, more details below. We invite testing and feedback for the beta service at the following URL: http://www.iris.edu/wsbeta/event/ We plan on moving th… [more]

Hi. I'm retrieving continuous data using bulkdataselect, one day at a time. A typical request line might look like "TA X16A -- BHZ 2007-03-30T00:00:00 2007-03-30T23:59:59.999" Using this method, I occasionally miss one or two samples at the day boundaries. I'm under the impression that the DMC internals make it more efficient to request on day boundaries. How do you recommend I do this to keep the data continuous and not miss samples at the day boundaries? Thanks! -- John

Are there any plans for building an IRIS web-service for providing *reviewed* regional network event catalogs? (I would rather not use the current SeismiQuery system in place - http://www.iris.edu/SeismiQuery/sq-events.htm) I am trying to efficiently collect all the regional event catalogs and do a comparison with the USArray catalog. Seeing as IRIS already has the data in one format, is it not trivial to put a web-services wrapper around the catalog data and allow it to be query-able via URL… [more]

Hello web service users, The systems that handle USArray data at the IRIS DMC will be undergoing maintenance starting in 10 minutes (starting at 11:00am Pacific) and will be offline for approximately an hour. For web service users this means that requests for waveform data will not return data handled by these systems, this includes all data from the TA network, and a portion of the stations from the following networks: CI, AZ, UU and C. Web service users, the IRIS DMC database will be offline for approximately 1 hour starting at 1pm Pacific time (21:00 UTC) on Tuesday January 10th for scheduled maintenance. While the database is offline the web services will not be accessible. thanks for your patience, DMC web services team
